JSE Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Index

Following the 2009 Annual Review of the SRI Index, the JSE, in consultation with
the data provider and the SRI Index Advisory Committee, has, in accordance with 
the SRI Index Ground Rules, reviewed the information available to us in relation
to Grindrod Ltd, and have come to the decision to reinsert the Company into the 
Index.                                                                          
The JSE therefore announces the following change:                               
INDEX:         JSE Socially Responsible Investment Indices (J100 and J101)      
CHANGE:       Grindrod Ltd (South EFFECTIVE FROM Africa, ZAE000072328) will be  
added to                                                                        
                    the index with 461,861,980 shares and with investibility    
weighting of 75%.
